Your Story is Waiting.

We all have a story. Our experiences, relationships, and ways of seeing the world are all unique. When we begin to really explore our realities, we see the power in our own storytelling - what has been useful and what holds us back from a more fulfilling journey.

If you find that you are struggling in new or old ways, therapy can be a way towards freedom from a storyline that no longer works. Perhaps you find yourself overly focused on the needs or perceptions of others. Perhaps you have always realized your brain didn’t work like other people’s but found ways to fit in anyway only now feeling exhausted and overwhelmed. Perhaps you are just at a point in life and asking “how did I get here?” Regardless of what brings you to therapy, the process often reveals a wealth of self-knowledge that invites you to heal and love yourself.

Therapy with Julie

Therapy is relational. One of the beautiful things that happens in counseling is that clients find a place to lay down concerns, traumas, hopes and deep regrets. While scary, vulnerability is often the antidote to shame. I work to create a trusting and open space for clients to discover their story and their needs, and realize they are worthy of the love and acceptance they seek.

My approach is always client centered, meaning that there is no judgement when it comes to your progress. I work to offer evidence based strategies, respect the work your body and brain has done to keep you safe, and infuse some humor in the process.

I want my clients to have a balance of deep healing (which comes with time and hard work) and tangible skills that can be implemented right away. Short term habit changes can be the motivation that keeps us moving towards longer term healing and growth.
